What is Stomp Fitness?
The term 'Group Fitness' is currently used in the fitness industry to describe group fitness classes that promotes fat loss, camaraderie and team effort. Stomp Fitness sessions are based on the military style of training. Usually held outdoors, sessions are designed to push people a little bit further than they would normally push themselves in the gym alone.
Stomp Fitness sessions are held outdoors in parks and utilise bodyweight exercises like pushups, squats, lunges; cardiovascular activities like jogging, skipping, and boxing; and team training equipment like ladders, hurdles and heavy carry-bags. Sessions also include military drills and competitive games. The idea is that everyone involved works at their own pace as they team up and work towards one goal, either on their own, in pairs, small teams of three or four, or even two teams head on.
Stomp Fitness sessions provide social support for those taking part. An advantage of group fitness training is that the large group dynamic will often help motivate the participants. This provides a different environment for those exercisers who get bored in a gym and so find it hard to develop a habit of exercise.
